Broadband 900 Wide

New 900 Lite, only $27.95 month!

Now there is a new light bandwidth version of the Broadband 900 Wide service. The 900 Lite shares the same robust equipment, setup and reliability as the 900 Wide, but the bandwidth is designed for those who do not need very high speeds. Still, at 360 kilobits per second upstream and downstream, the 900 Lite is 7 times faster than dial-up (50 kilobits downstream, 28 kilobits upstream).
 Residential: $27.95 / month. Equipment rental $6.99 / month.

The Broadband 900 Wide service is installed in the SSCB main towers! This very powerful and long carrying service performs a wide 3 megabit/s bandwidth both upstream and downstream even in less than perfect line-of-sight situations.
Residential: $36.95 / month. Equipment rental $6.99 / month.

ILS dial-up new settings

ILS dial-up users can now dial from anywhere in Canada. The new dial-up service started December 1st replaced the old Newmarket based dial-up setup. The new service is available to all our dial-up users but requires new settings:
The new service is easy to set up. The dial-up number and the way the username is entered have changed. No hardcoded DNS server settings needed any more.
Your ILS email account remains as is. NO NEED to change anything with your mail program, Outlook Express or Thunderbird.
The mail server settings remain:
Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: mail.ils.net
Incoming (POP3) mail server: mail.ils.net

Community Broadband Installation status

Old Homestead 190ft tower Broadband 900 Wide activated, Broadband 900 Wide and the 900 Lite services available in 4 km range. Jackson's Point Broadband 900 Wide activated, adjusting downtilts and channels. Stay tuned to this web page, all new service availabilities will be announced here!

Pefferlaw, Virginia, surrounding areas: The new Broadband 900 Wide and the 900 Lite services available. Main tower at Old Homestead 4km range.

Central Georgina: Belhaven, Baldwin networks:
Broadband 900 Wide and 900 Lite are now available in the area between Woodbine, Ravenshoe, Baseline, Park Rd., Sutton included. Call 905-476-1011 or bring in your applications form!

Sutton:
Broadband 900 service available Sutton, Jackson's Point and surrounding area.

Jackson's Point: New 120 ft tower assembled at Grew Blvd. Broadband 900 testing and fine tuning.

Keswick North: Broadband 900 available at Woodbine Rd.

Keswick South:new tower planned, subject to permits etc.

West Beaches: Island Grove, Snake Island, Crescent, Paradise, Willow Beaches, two new towers will bring services to this area, the Jackson's Point tower and the Island Grove tower. Both towers ready and rigged, testing.

East Beaches: McRae Beach, Duclos Point Broadband 240 WiFi installed, limited range.

ILS was founded in 1995, when Internet was not yet available for most of the Georgina-Newmarket area. ILS operates its own network and equipment independently and has one of highest reliability records of ISP's in Canada. ILS is a member of CAIP, Canadian Association of Internet Providers.
ILS is also a member of South Shore Community Broadband, SSCB, a not-for-profit organization based out of the Town of Georgina. Using volunteer labour from the community and funding from several levels of government, SSCB has brought High Capacity Internet to Georgina.
SSCB has connected the Georgina Civic Centre, a large number of Town sites and business complexes in Georgina into the broadband network. The current stage is to bring wireless broadband to the rural areas by building the Community Network. The service is now available in most of Georgina, focusing on the rural areas.
Internet Lake Simcoe has been a strong supporter of the SSCB effort and has contributed over thousands of volunteer hours, use of equipment and bandwidth in its development. ILS is an authorized ISP reseller of SSCB's Community Network services to residential and small business.
