I'm not certain when this photograph was captured. I think he might be about 9 years old in it.

 Apocryphal, or not, the story behind it is that he had become ill, and fearing that he might die, his parents (Alfred and Harriett) had his portrait taken in order to have a souvenir image of him.

The photograph was taken at the studio of A. & D. Grant in Sutton West, Onario. The table cloth and floral arrangement are similar to the ones in the "wedding" portrait of Evelenine (see photo)
