Another one of the favourite animals that he talked about was "Happy", and I think you can see the pride of ownership in this picture. If I remember the story correctly, he bottle-raised "Happy" from a colt, so the two became very much attached.
Unfortunately, "Happy" slipped one day, and broke it's neck. However, he was remembered with great affection, and was frequently included in Dad's recollections.
