
Another one of his passions was standard bred, race horses. For a while after he retired, and before the barn was destroyed, we converted the farm into a racing stable. "Western Kate" was one of the many horses that were boarded and trained here.
Also appearing in this photograph is his good friend, Tom Ingram. For many years, Tom would make his daily visit to talk, and sometimes quibble among themselves. It is interesting to note that Tom passed away within a year of father, so presumably the discussion goes on.
