Maurice and Patricia were a very devoted, hard working couple. In many ways they complimented one another. Father was an easy going man, and a "doer", while mother was tenacious, and a very careful manager.

They were married in 1934, just a few years after the Great Depression, and I think this affected the way they both approached life. Nothing was ever wasted, and money was carefully managed. Mother did the managing.

This photograph was taken on the grounds of the provincial sanitarium located at Gravenhurst, Ontario. For an extended period of time in 1958, Pat was confined there while she  recovered from tuberculosis, and every Sunday the family's "Monarch" would be headed north for a visit, like this one.

She recovered from the tuberculosis, but died in 1966 of cancer (probably brought on by the extensive X-Ray therapy she received during her tuberculosis treatment). She is buried in a vapor sealed vault at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Virginia, Ontario.
