This has to be one of my favourite photographs, from the people portrayed, to the day and the setting. The occasion was a wedding in the family, and the setting was Saint Anthony's church in Virginia, Ontario, where many of the members of the family are buried.
But most of all, it captures a happy moment being shared by dad and his beloved sisters, Veronica and Adele. It is the only photograph in my collection that features more than one or two members together at a time.
It is special, too, because these were probably my favourite aunts. Veronica was a quiet, serious person, but always kindly, and Adele had a vivacious, outgoing personality, with just a touch of 'devil-may-care' venturous spirit.
These were the last of the last of the 4th generation of the John/James/Alfred line.
